I've been sewing a lot lately - I keep finding myself heading down to the sewing room (aka the garage) and pulling out all of my ancient scraps. These old cutters, pieces that couldn't possibly be used for anything else, are finding new life in my small fabric collages. I kinda like this new sewing habit - it reminds me of when I learned how to link beads together - it's addicting.
Love the clear blues you're using and the reds are devine. I hope you are thinking of incorporating some of those paper elements in your new fabric collections. You have some amazing old labels and tags there.
I see a whole new way to scrapbook out of these small pages. I like how you have incorporated the old religious cards (Joan of Arc?) with the scraps. They remind me of pages from an old scrap book...simply amazing!
What a fun way to use up scraps. I have just discovered collage myself and it's so freeing - no seams to match perfectly, plaing with stitches, layering and layering. I can't imagine what a store of treasured bits you have to pull from though!
I have loved your shop and fabrics for years. I longed to make something one day with them. The only thing in my whole life I used a sewing machine for was mending a drape hem, big deal. Now I sew all the time. I love it. Who knew it could be so much fun.
I simply love it, they remind me of little ispiration board/ wall quilt............HUGS MARY
