Our newest fabric line from Moda, La Petite Ecole, has arrived! Our latest collection is inspired by the small prints, polka dots and stripes used by the school children in France to cover cahiers - their small notebooks. I love the faded reds, grays and blues in this line - the colors are perfect for a little boy or girls room.
If you need/want/must have more fabric to add to your stash collection -- leave us a comment about your New Year craft resolution and we'll choose a couple of lucky winners to receive a handful of Petite Ecole prints.
There's also a great block of the month designed by Anne Sutton that uses La Petite Ecole - just in case you can't get enough of this collection!
My New Year's crafting resolution would be to try new things, not worry about the outcome and just do it!
ReplyDelete:)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabric Collection!!! My resolution is to sew with my daughter. She is 12 and has a very unique style, sort of steam punk goth meets vintage french, and I know that we'll have fun creating some special things together and she may learn a little something along the way.

Mary

ReplyDeleteMy 2011 crafting resolution is to learn how to use a sewing machine. my husband's grandmother, Lecta, has been wanting to teach me forever so I am definitely taking the time. I see so many beautiful projects like free stitch journals that I would love to be able to do.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win. Bonne Annee!!!
Two years ago for New Year's Day I decided to move my sewing area to our unfinished attic, and turn it into a haven. I thought it would take a couple of days to get it into order, but after two years, the job is still not complete. My 2011 New Year's resolution is to keep organizing and adding things I love, so that I will be surrounded by inspiration. I know better now than to resolve to "finish", because my evolving projects make it a never ending job-or "joy", depending on how one looks at it, lol!
ReplyDeleteMy New Year's crafting resolution is to organize all my supplies and to share my crafting knowledge by starting to teach art/craft workshops! I'm really excited to do this! This line of fabrics is just fantastic! Jamie V in MT

ReplyDeletemake time to sew every day, as it makes me so happy. Also, take some time to play around and do some experimenting with different mixes of fabrics, in small projects. I have some beautiful vintage linens that I want to mix with my cotoon stash. Oh, did I mention, give up houseswork? ;)
ReplyDeleteMy new years resolution is to finish quilting all my quilt tops by June 2011 and to photgraph all quilts and keep my design journal up to date. The other resolution is to make at least four charity quilts for this year for the neo natal ward at our local hospital.
ReplyDeleteMy new year crafting resolution would be to sew a school house patchwork. I'm a teacher-I teach French to"foreign" students, and I realize it would be funny to sew that kind of quilt with this fabric line from Moda.

ReplyDeleteI'll see you on January 29th!!
My crafting resolution is to enjoy the process, finish one boy's quilt (or as close to it as possible) before the next one arrives and to share my crafting time with some of my best friends as it is priceless bonding time. Love the la Petite Ecole fabric. Thanks for making tasteful children's fabric choices.
ReplyDeleteMy New Year resolution is to do more of the same. Being about to purchase beautiful fabric made by talented designers, such as yourself, is a dream come true. Wish I could resolve to make more hours in each day. Keep on keeping on.
ReplyDeletemy new year's craft revolution starts with cleaning up the aftermath of holiday orders. From November to December, it was a flurry from Silver Bella to a local sale and open house. My studio can use a good once over. (it's tough to do because some of my best ideas come from where beads and charms wind up on my table)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
P.S. My sister gave me the polka dot tool pocket/wrap for Christmas and I love it.
2011 will be a quilting year for me. I didn't do much this year because of the illness and loss of someone special in my life, but I am entering the new year with new resolve! 2011? Bring it on!
ReplyDeleteMy New Years Craft resolution is to be inspired by what I already own. The beautiful new fabric will be an accent to an existing palette.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! and thanks for the draw.
My resolution is to use as many fabrics up into new designs from inspiration from designers. All of them!! The fabrics are beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteNext year, I resolve, in the words of Nike, to "just do it!" Not wait to have a perfect plan and the perfect supplies, but just use what I've got and make something. I think both my productivity and my creativity would get a bounce. By the way, lovely fabrics which would go so well with photos of my parents when they were children.
ReplyDeleteThis beautiful fabric line would make me put down my school books and start a project.....I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery new line of the French General fabrics outdoes the last one. How do you manage to accomplish that??? The new fabrics are so beautiful. I am resolving for 2011 to finish up some old and definitely start some new projects. Happy New Year to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteMary
My New's Years resolution is not to start a new project until I finish an old one - at least I won't accumulate any more UFOs that way! Love this fabric line and thanks for the great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteWell, how interesting when I looked at my computer because I had just returned from purchasing the layer cake of this fabric from the quilt shop in Livermore, CA. I LOVE this. And it goes perfect with all the other French General fabric I have accumulated. I am using this for a quilt class I am taking in a couple of weeks. And it is also being made into a comforter for my bed.
ReplyDeleteMy resolution for the new year ... finish more of my projects that have been accumulating
I am purposing to quilt more in 2011. There have been some detours in the last two years that have made it difficult to sew and quilt. I am hoping that this New Year will be bright with possibilities :-)
ReplyDeleteMy New Years crafting resolution would be to continue on showing more of my creative stress in my gardening and quilting..........I love your new fabric line and would love to have them. Thanks for having this GIVEAWAY, MARY
ReplyDeleteMy New Year's crafting/sewing resolution is to sew as many quilts as I can (I'm a relatively new quilter, but I've sewn all my life), continue to improve my knitting skills, learn to do some simple crochet, and try to find some time for scrapbooking too. I love all your fabric, but want to make a quilt from La Petite Ecole fabric. Thanks for the opportunity to win some!!
ReplyDeleteHi and Happy Holidays from Downunder in Western Australia! I just love all the French general fabrics and used the Luminere De Noel to make a table runner and coasters for a Christmas gift, it was very difficult to give them away! My crafting resolution for this year is to make some quilts and smaller quilted items for myself as I always seem to give what i make away! It does give me great pleasure though. Happy New Year!

Beautiful fabrics! My craft resolution is sew more, collage more, just do more!! Happy New Year and thanks for the opportunity to win.
ReplyDeleteMy New Year's craft resolution is to relax and have more fun with what I'm creating - especially working with fabrics. I tend to be too much of a perfectionist and even quit halfway through a sewing project if not 100% satisfied. :( Your new fabrics may be just the inspiration I need!
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to sew more and finally bring order out of chaos in my stitching room! Adore the fabrics!
ReplyDeleteIn 2011 I want to do something creative each day...it really helps me clear the cob webs in my brain. :) I also want to take my first "real" craft class this year. I've taken plenty of online classes, but with my youngest baby graduating high school this year, it's time to do something that's good for my soul.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win your pretty fabrics!

My 2010 Craft Resolution is to pass on the craft/art of sewing to my four daughters. They have all been bitten by the needling bug! What fun to watch them as they learn. Personally, I will be making time to craft 4 night each week. Such a peaceful way to end each day!
ReplyDeleteThis year I´d love to make a coat and my first quilt. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI REALLY want to finish as many of my unfinished projects as possible in the new year. I may have to send some tops out to be quilted, instead of hand quilting them, but it's starting to be frustrating to have some many works in progress - especially since I have some new ones I want to get started on!
ReplyDeleteLinda

And I am starting the night before christmas which uses le petite ecole this coming month!)hmm, and to add some new things to my craft time- my hubby bought me beads and kits and tools from your website, and I am more than enjoying myself, I feel a new obsession ...maybe I'll just pull out all my stained glass stuff as well, who needs a toy room??

ReplyDeleteThese fabrics are absolutely beautiful - I love the ones with the letters on - so antiquey and cool. I was tempted to ask Moda Bake Shop to make the quilt in this line but I think the prints call for something a little simpler. Anyway, either way I'd love to win these gorgeous fabrics!
ReplyDeleteHi, my New Years resolution is to finish a Xmas quilt that I have been intending to finish for a few years, also finish a couple of quilted bags that I made stitcheries for. One is for a schoolteacher, so the "La Petite Ecole" fabrics would be just perfect!!!! Sandy. :-)

My resolution is to finish one vintage project and then have the reward of a new idea!!! I am BAD about procrastination!!

ReplyDeleteHopefully that will lead to a greater output and less mess.
Ideas start swirling round in my head and I can't help myself starting a new project.
Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway.
My problem is that I just LOVE all your fabric lines. I received the Rouenneries line as a Christmas present last year and throughout 2010 was not able to decide for a project to use it in case there might be THE perfect one around the corner that I just am not yet aware of. You see, I used to be undecisive, but now I don't know ....
ReplyDeleteSo, my resolution for 2011 is not only to watch my Rouenneries but use them.
And maybe a little pile of "La Petite Ecole" would help me overcome my hesitation ...
Thank you for all the wonderful fabrics you're designing for us and for the chance to win some of them!
Happy New Year
Rena
from bitterly cold Germany

ReplyDeletemy craft intention is to take my new sewing machine out of its box.
ReplyDeletethe same box it has been sitting in since last February.
i love typography + fonts and anything vintage school related.
my grandmother was a teacher and a gifted seamstress.
this year i am determined to channel her spirit through my sewing machine...with a little practice...

OMG! The machine is still in the box! There's too much beautiful fabric going to waste, while that machine sits idle. :)
ReplyDeleteI am definately trying to make a quilt this year. I might start with a small one though, this gorgeous fabric would be perfect for my first one :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 1-1-11! I'm excited to have the fall craft season behind me and new roads ahead. My resolution is to continue to develop my own sense of style. I've also been thinking about creating a new item using my vintage collections of ephemera and sewing notions.
ReplyDeleteMy crafting resolution would be to incorporate paper and fabric together. I love all these new fabrics.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to make a beautiful quilt and curtains for our master bedroom.
ReplyDeleteoh how beautiful I know my chance of winning this is slim butall the same I must try. this new year I am making the resolution to teach my youngest Daughter and one of my best friends the joy of patchwork and quilting

My new year's crafting resolution is to continue building my small accessory business and to branch out into new creative directions using new and different materials while continuing with a vintage style! I LOVE French General and these fabrics are fab! Thank you!

My new years resolution is to make a quilt for my king size bed. I have made quilts for my children, but not for my own. I love French General and plan on finishing my quilt...I just need to decide if it will be all petite ecole or a combination of French General.
ReplyDeleteMy New Year resolution is to make more quilts and knit more items for those I love. Quilting for others is always an act of love, the time, thought and effort that goes into a quilt is always influenced by the caring that you feel for the person, and how much they will love the item made. Recently, my only daughter and new husband, informed me, that we will be having a new family member in this new year. So for me, the New Year resolution is a perfect for me to show my daughter, how much I love her, and already love out new baby.

What a beautiful collection! I rarely make NY resolutions, however it is ongoing goal to make more time for my studio projects.
ReplyDeleteMy craft resolution is to finally learn to sew more than a straight line. My almost 80 year old grandmother is teaching me and I want to learn as much as I can from her!
ReplyDeleteI am a new quilter (a few months new) and just love this line. I love all things french related and have an interest in making mini-quilts. A small sample of this line would be a wonderful start!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the give-away!
Erin
oh, to have vintage-looking school prints to share with my twin 10 year olds (who sew quite well) would be a real thrill! my new year's resolution is to take time to slow down (me) and teach my girls some great sewing tips! they already can piece fabric so they're on their way! their grandma is an avid quilter so we're spoiled that way. their other grandmother spends much of her time making humanitarian quilts. we love fabric!

Even if I don't win which I never do I thought this was funny. To put a different spin on an old knack song
ReplyDelete"Ma Ma My MODA!" Or I hope it will be. I love MODA it is my new years resolution to sew as much as I can with MODA.
La Petite Ecole fabric just arrived in the UK. I was on my way out of my quilting class when I saw the opened delivery box on the shop floor. I ordered straight out of the box. I could not believe it. I went through all their deliveries and then chose the ones I really liked. Wish I could have them all but I may just get kicked out by my family.
ReplyDeleteAlready dreaming about what to make for my son's school with what I got.
I'm late on leaving a comment however I want all that fabric!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs that not the greatest fabric I have ever seen??? I love the ABC fabric oh just all of it.
I have to find out where I can buy it
I also just loved the trip down the stairs of Tinsel Trading I would sleep down there and I could look through every box
