Vermont on My Mind...

Last Fall, Mogull and I hit the road and traveled to Arlington, Vermont for Charlotte and Meleen's Vermont Getaway.  Just north of Bennington, Arlington is filled with beautiful rolling hills, maple syrup and was the home of Norman Rockwell for many years.  I taught our antique patchwork boro class to women who participated from all over the country.  It was a special weekend - only made more special by Meleen's amazing hospitality.  Meleen owns two country homes - right next door to each other - where everyone sleeps and eats the delicious food she makes with her amazing assistant, Kana.  After spending time in Vermont with these special women, I knew just once wasn't enough!

This coming Fall, I was lucky enough to be invited back by Meleen and her neighbor, Tammy of Wing and a Prayer Farm.  Tammy and her family live on a 20 acre farm where they raise and care for a variety of poultry, Registered Shetland, Cormo, Cotswold & Merino sheep, Registered Angora Goats, Alpacas, an American Guinea Hog named Princess Peppermint, bunnies, horses and a Shetland pony, and honeybees.  Tammy keeps herself busy!  When she is not tending to her animals, she is found in her kitchen baking pies, preserving fruit, and canning foods from the farm.

Tammy, Meleen and I have planned three days of natural plant dyeing, weaving, jewelry making, block printing and more!  This will be a special weekend which happens to run right after The Southern Adirondack Fiber Festival on September 24th & 25th in nearby Greenwich, NY.

We have just a couple of spots left for our Vermont Colored Wool Retreat and would love you to join us!  For more information or to sign up, please visit Tammy's site, Wing and a Prayer Farm.
