More photos from the hat factory in Septfond...but these were the pieces that were too dear to Guy's heart - he couldn't part with the old stamps - each used to stamp the name of a particular hat. I think Rebecca might have convinced Guy to sell the number stamps - used for marking the size of the hat. The sizes weren't as important to him - but the names - ah yes, the names.
"What are you wearing?"
"It's the Odile"
"I love it!"
Oh the hat factory! I have been dreaming about visiting here ever since your first post. Wonderful photos of this magical place!
ReplyDeleteI'll wear the Margot!
:)
This is a place of dreams. My Grandmother's name was Lucile. I don't often see it spelled with just one 'L'. Thanks for sharing, I hope you continue to show us more. Bliss~
ReplyDeleteI wanted those beautiful name stamps so badly! But Guy was so sweet and sentimental, I didn't press him; instead, I hugged him...our friend, King of the Chapeau! What a wonderful day! And yes, I do have a cache of fabulous number stamps and I treasure them!
ReplyDeleteWonderful memories! Very impressed that he gave up the number stamps...I wanted those so badly!
ReplyDeleteI love the name Margot! How sweet and worn those stamps are. He named his hats like they name purses and handbags.
