It's that time of the year - lot's of red (my favorite!), holiday cheer and some fun from Moda! Today is the third day of the Moda Holiday Blog Hop and it's our day - as well as a few other friends! We've got one of our favorite holiday recipes, a block pattern and a wonderful holiday give-away on this exciting day!
I usually get all uncreative at this time of the year. I think I've worked with so many beads, buttons, fabric swatches and paper embellishments...that I burn out. I used to really dread it - but now I kinda like it - it feels like my August. Everyone has an August - that time of the year when you get to relax before it all starts up again. But the funny, is that it's the busiest time of the year - so I am trying to relax while all this energy in me knows there is so much to do...so much to get done...the holidays are here!

Speaking about food...cause really...isn't that what we all love about the holidays?! Here is one of my favorite holiday recipes - the classic French Crepe! Crepes can be filled with anything from fruit or simple powdered sugar and lemon - and served for breakfast or dessert.

Oh my, another wonderful blog to follow! I think my favorite Holiday Inspiration is Bing Crosby in White Christmas! When I was little, it was always on the weekend before Christmas - the weekend that we made our Christmas cookies - so whenever I see it, I gives me great pause!
My inspiration is from nature, the snow on the ground, the evergreens with snow tipped branches.
My inspiration comes when it is time to plant my amaryllis. I force these every year for Christmas. Mine are blooming right now!
My inspiration this time of year is the music. I do everything to music from Bob Denver and the Muppets to Bing Crosby to Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I love it all!

My holiday inspiration comes from hearing the Christmas music and the wonderful older Christmas/holiday movies that once again return to tv. My favorite Cinnamon Hot Chocolate always makes me think about the holidays and then the biggest inspiration for me is our yearly visit to the local tree farm. I just love going there and seeing all the beautiful ornaments from around the world and the children being super excited about picking out their Christmas tree.

My inspiration this year was a quilt I finished in January last year. It was made from a charm pack of christmas fabrics in the snowball pattern with pine tree appliqués in the border. The minute I brought it out, I was ready to start decorating and sewing. Thanks for making the blog hop possible.

my holiday inspiration is snow, fluffy and sparkling....not yet around here although I've seen the occasional car with snow on top...
I get inspiration from the colours around in nature this time of year. The brown, stately silhouettes of the bare trees, the crisp frost tips on the grass, and the rich reds of the bare dogwood branches. Pair these branches with the deep green holly bushes and Christmas decorating is in the bag.

My favorite holiday inspiration is my small collection of antique glass Christmas tree ornaments; they are so delicate and some of the colors are faded from age - beautiful.

I am always inspired by the lights that I see all over the neighborhoods. We have a local Living Museum dedicated to animals native to rescued wild animals and they have a light festival every year and donations help feed the animals.

I love this time of year not only to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but also to go to our local businesses and pick some names off of the angel trees. These names are of some children in our area whom of which come from low income families. To inspire them that there is hope and they are not left out. So many things! Christmas music, the smell of pine, candles, snow, red poinsettias and fresh baked cookies! (of course any fabrics with Christmas design or red and green!)
I love to save Christmas books and magazines, they have become a kind of collection that I can draw inspiration from!
My holiday inspiration are my 2 beautiful daughters whom I love sooo much!! I love to surprise them with the perfect gifts and share our home with friends and family!
