We designed four quilts for our new collection, Le Bouquet Francais.  Each quilt was lovingly hand-sewn and quilted by our talented group of quilting ladies....I am always amazed when these quilts arrive and every one is more beautiful than the next...I hope you enjoy them!

Order any of our quilting patterns  HERE

We also started a collaboration with a wonderful haberdashery and fabric store in Melbourne, Australia, called L'Uccello.  L'Uccello has designed a wonderful set of sewing accessories using our fabric collection.  Inside each pattern is a full size pattern that you can use to make up these lovely beauties.
I was introduced to L'Uccello by a mother-daughter team who come to France with us each summer...they own a lovely quilting shop (also in Australia!) called Hettie's Patch. I love it when the perfect opportunity happens and everyone comes together at just the right moment...that's what happened with L'Uccello....and we are looking forward to their upcoming Petite Patterns in the future!

Order our Petite Pattern with L'Uccello HERE

We also designed a special quilt kit that is only available through French General and only if you act fast...

Order our Bouquet Bleu Quilt Kit HERE

Thanks to Moda, I have a handful of giveaways to accompany this blog hop, as well as some cute fabric button bracelets, so go ahead and leave me a comment about your favorite new GADGET...I am always looking for the next big thing to help my sewing!  Sofia will choose the lucky winners within the week and we will send out some prizes! Thanks for playing along!

How about the mechanical chalk pencil?

May Britt said...

My favorite gadget right now has to be my Karen Kay Buckley's Small 4" Scissor. I just love this scissor.

Sandra Montgomery said...

It has to be a chopstick as it's great when turning and pushing out points for applique pieces. Always have one in your tool box.

Hildy said...

My favorite new gadget is the aqua Olfa ruler. I love how easy it is to change the blades with this.

Love my Ott light I received for Christmas. Now I can see what I am sewing!

Hanke said...

My favorite gadget is the threadcutter for traveling. I donot travel a lot, but when I do it is nice to hand piece! Thanks for the chance!

Miriam said...

My favourite gadget is my new LED light pad. Now I don't need to tape drawings on the window to prepare my applique...and wait for day time to do it! Lol
L'ucello is my absolute favourite shop in Melbourne.:) I have purchased the pattern and made 2 of the needlecases for gifts.
Love all your fabrics and congratulations on your latest collection! :)

Sarapa said...

Honestly, my favorite gadget is my rotary cutter. I could NOT imagine how they did it in the earlier days with a pair of scissors and still made the most perfect quilts. What a time saver now!

Gloria said...

My most used gadget are my rotary cutters. I have 3 different sizes and two sorts but the one I use most is the 45mm Olfa with the blade that retracts automatically.

Sarah F said...

My zip up pencil case - does that count as a gadget? - I always has scissors, thread, needles and a pair od reading glasses. I grab it wherever I am in the house or out and about and I am fully armed for my hand sewing projects.

ana s. said...

My favorite gadget is the rotary cutter by far. I grab it every day.

Siobhán said...

My favorite new to me gadget is using applique glue. I also want to try using a small line of glue with piecing.

Ingrid Taylor said...

I love the Fons and Porter luma lighted needle threader. Can you tell I am of a certain age?

Dolores' Cottage said...

My favorite and most used is my rotary cutter!

Suze said...

They are new to me: Ecolux LED Light for your Sewing Machine. They are wonderful. The light bulbs in my sewing machine are impossible. Every time one went out, I had to have a repairman change it. The gadget to do that doesn't work. That became very expensive and annoying so, I bought the Ecolux and problem solved.

Kay said...

Thanks for showing your beautiful fabrics and new patterns. My favourite gadget is my magnetic pincushion, if I drop a pin or two I just wave it over the general area until it appears stuck to it. As I have to sew in the kitchen this is very useful with children and a dog around.

Sunnybec said...

I've just bought a magnet and it's fabulous now just putting the pins down near where it is and they just shoot across to it!! Love it.

Kay said...

I have two favorite gadgets, my rotary cutter and magnetic pin "cushion". Love your fabrics!

Renee said...

My favorite notion is the Perfect Piecing Seam Guide. Once I discovered it, my 1/4" seams started to be perfect and I became one happy quilter.

Sandy said...

I like a wearable quilt magnet- that is in quilt block shapes- made in Iowa.

I love my sewline glue pen! I'm new to hand appliqué and it's my new best gadget!! Love it. I also love your fabrics and they are what I'm using in my appliqué quilt! Thank you!

Rosemary Youngs said...

Absolutely love the remains of the day pattern. So cute

Pam said...

One item I use to mark lines is painters tape. On my machine for the sewing lines. On the rulers and it's easy to remove.

Judy said...

My most used gadget is my 1/4" quilting foot. That foot is on my machine most of the time. Thanks for the chance - love the patterns.

helen said...

Magnetic pin cushion not sure thats the word for it but saves the pins from ending up on the floor.

Allison said...

My favorite new gadget I haven't received yet but it's on order. It is something that helps clean my cutting mat. Can't wait!

Lorri said...

My aqua olfa rotary cutter is my new best friend!

Linda Cates said...

Right now I love my purple disappearing marking pen for machine quilting. Pure magic!

Your letter G is lovely and I'd love to see a whole alphabet in this style. However, I was hoping to get instructions for the block that will coordinate with the rest of the letters in this blog hop. At the bottom of your blog post you offer links to the pdf files but they all direct me to the letter "A". I'm really going to need that G. Please help. For the giveaway chance, my favorite new gadget is a quarter-inch foot for my sewing machine. Thanks!

B. J. Woodlee said...

I have the snippet trimmer on order. Can't wait to try it out

alice carter said...

My favorite gadget is my curved scissors-sharp and very precise.

Donna said...

I've not purchased a new gadget in a bit - fabric seems to call my name these days. But a swap friend gave me a a real auto mechanic's tool - a slender "stick" with a magnet and light at one end. Mechanics use it to retrieve lost screws when working. I use it to locate and retrieve those pesky dropped pins.

Kellie from Indiana said...

Its not new, but new to me.. hair clips to help sew on binding! Takes strain off your hands! Love your fabric!

Verna A. said...

I love my aqua rotary cutter and Frixion pen.

Aureas Kitchen said...

I don't have a lot of specific quilters tools, but I love my mat and my rotary cutter. And always my thimble when I sew by hand.

Alicia said...

Because for the 1st time in 30 years I DID cut my left index finger with the rotary cutter, my new favorite gadget is the rotary-cutter-ruler combo with the cutter *attached* to the ruler. That way one can NOT cut one's finger! Also, the palm fits onto the cutter as opposed to the gripped hand so less wrist stress.

DawnB said...

Frixion pens and thanks for the giveaway. Love your new fabric line.

Karen said...

A new gadget for me is the big stitch marking wheel. Looks really helpful.

Melissa Miller said...

If a light is considered a gadget, then it would be the Stella lamp I won in a giveaway last year. It's been a lifesaver!

Staci said...

I love my Olfa rotating cutting mat! It is wonderful for any small bits that need to be cut or trimmed. I found it invaluable while I made my Farmer's Wife Quilt and use it every time I have HST's to trim down. Worth every penny!

New fabric line is GORGEOUS! I especially love the yellows.

Willa said...

Your G is beautiful!

My favorite gadget is not new. It is from the tool department at a big box store. A retractable magnet. Retracts to about the size of a ball point pen. But stretches out to about 24 inches long with a good magnet on the end. Great for retrieving dropped pins etc.

susiefloozie said...

My favorite notion would have to be waxed paper. It's so versatile. Love it for applique, love it for templates, love it for keeping fudge from sticking together! HA!

JennyLeeandMe said...

Not necessarily my favorite gadget but probably my most used through the years would be the dreaded seam ripper. :) I absolutely LOVE your fabric lines and quilt designs! I'm jus so in love with your Bouquet Blue Quilt Kit!

My favorite new gadget is a tool that makes 4 flying geese at once and they turn out perfectly, I love flying geese and it makes my job so much easier. Love your new fabric line.

Dee said...

My favorite gadget is my curved tipped snipps and pointed tip tweezers. Love your fabric!!!

Michele K said...

I don't have many sewing gadgets, so I guess I'd have to go with my rotary cutter.

Regina said...

I love the little Wonder clips they have so many uses.

Pat said...

My favorite tool is my rotary cutter.

simplyquilts said...

I love my ergonomic seam ripper. We all have to do it and this makes it easier!

Slice of Pi said...

My newest gadget is a long metal skewer. I use it to lift the fabric when pin basting on the dining room table so the pins don't stick the table. Thanks for the chance!

Margaret said...

I love my magnetic pin cushion, and I don't know why I haven't bought one earlier. It makes it so easy to remove pins as I am sewing a seam. Whoosh! The pins are attracted to and clamped securely onto the pincushion, and I am not flailing around trying to stab into a traditional pincushion. Love it!
I haven't tried the new binding clips yet, but they look very promising. I will probably be convinced after I bind a couple more quilts and poke myself with pins. No matter how careful I am, that always happens.
Love French General fabric!!

I have a 2.5 hst ruler that I love! Jmh

I just love your new fabric line. I just ordered charm squares and can't wait to get them. I know I will be ordering much more of this line. I collect blue and white china , and they toile print is a must. I will be getting some yardage of that one for sure. Such a beautiful line. I just ordered a bloc loc ruler for half square triangles. I can't wait to get it. I know that's going to be a favorite gadget for me. You put it over the sewn hst and it locks the seam in place , so no slipping while trimming block down to size .. Thanks for all the eye candy.

My favorite gadget of late is my Dresden ruler. Having a lot of fun with that!

Diane Baldwin said...

I love my new (to me) seam ripper by clover. I was using an old dritz and it was a trial. This thing is simply amazing.

Helen said...

I just bought an Angler 2 and so far it's helped me improve my piecing.

Jennifer said...

I don't have any new gadgets, but the responses so far have me wanting to run to the store! I use a knitting needle to turn my corners. Love your new line, thanks for the chance!

Kristin Betts said...

My current favorite tool is a plain old disappearing ink quilt marker. I was too scared to use these before, because I was afraid the marks wouldn't come off like they said they would. What a relief! :)

My favorite new gadget is a new Ott light I treated myself to. Prior I had one of the original Ott lights, did not realize how much they've improved!

I don't know what this is called, but my favorite gadget is used for cutting strips accurately. You lay it over the fabric (which is on a cutting mat) and use your rotary cutter along the grooves. Perfect strips everytime!

My favorite new gadget is "new to me". It is the Shape Plus strip cut ruler. It is the neatest thing since sliced bread...in fact, it is kinda like slicing bread! SO easy to make perfect strips SO quickly since you do not have to keep moving the ruler and realigning. LOVE IT!!

My favorite new gadget are the Frixion pens by Pilot. Great for marking embroidery and the ink disappears upon ironing. Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway and the awesome letter banner!

Doris Rice said...

My favorite new gadget is a freebie ruler I got at quilt market a few years ago from Olfa. I "found" it a few weeks ago in a drawer. It's only 1 1/2" wide and 12" long but is perfect for cutting half square triangles in half. Just long enough not to be bulky like my 6 1/2 x 24.

WoolenSails said...

My favorite tool is my quarter inch ruler. I use it all the time for marking my half triangles and makes sewing quilts and piecing, so much easier for me.

I have a tube of machine oil with a needle for the spout --- allows me to put a "drop" in hard to reach places on my featherweight. I had a machine tech (male) that told me women think, if one drop of oil is good, then many are even better.

No new gadgets, just my still favorite Olfa 12 inch rotating mat.

Amy said...

Oh my goodness ... how do I pick just one? I love gadgets. The good thing is that most of the ones that I pick up at quilt shows and stores actually turn out to be good investments! Someone else said Wonder Clips (can you believe some people still use straight pins?) and a couple of people said Frixion pens (love that you can find them in so many stores). So I guess I'll say the June Tailor slotted rulers that you can get at places like JoAnn Fabrics. I know it's not an indy quilt store, but the slotted rulers make such quick work of getting fabric cut quickly and accurately so that you can get on with the sewing! I have all of the different sizes, including the specialty one for cutting Dresden Plate blades and the one meant for squaring up HST's and QST's. Wish more people would try them.

Samantha Scherer said...

My favorite gadget is my rotary cutter. When I was just starting I used scissors and nothing was straight! My rotary cutter is a MUST!

I recently purchased a *Seam-Fix Seam Ripper/Thread Remover Tool* at my LQS. LOVE your new fabric & patterns, especially the one utilizing drunkards path blocks!!

General's charcoal pencils....not new but not widely used as quilt marking pencils....highly recommended by noted instructors. I love my frixion pen to make markings! It's a pen whose ink will disappear with heat! on paper I usually rub it with eraser, the friction creates heat. But ironing seams on fabric... Voila, the markings are gone! I guess it might be good or bad depending if you might still need the markings or not.

I'm not much of a gadget person, and haven't purchased anything recently. However, of the gadgets I do have, I would never be without my seam ripper. Not only is it good for ripping out seams, but I also find it invaluable for holding my fabric when sewing pieces together.

The latest fabric collection is gorgeous! I just purchased a little Plexiglas tool that sets the scant quarter inch sewing line on the sewing machine. I've been using it with great success--I recheck my seam allowance every time I sew not and I'm amazed at how much easier things are fitting together!

For those looking for the link to the "G" block in the style of the rest of the letters on this blog hop, it can be found here:

http://www.modafabrics.com/g_spellitwithfabric.pdf

You can actually get any of the letters you want if you copy that into your browser address bar, and then change ONLY the letter to the one you desire. For example:

Changes to:

in order to get to the .pdf for letter "I".

Hope this helps!
