Today is the kick-off day for the Moda Size Matters Blog Hop and Giveaway! This has been a long time coming...and I'm excited to start the blog hop on day one, along with Edyta of Laundry Basket Quilts and Brigitte of Zen Chic!
Our latest collection for Fall 2013, Josephine, is coming soon! Filled with our deep reds and pinks, rich browns, and naturals, the Josephine Collection is inspired by Napoleon's first wife, Josephine de Beauharnais. The first Empress of France was a lover of all things botanical and kept a rose garden at Chateau de Malmaison that rivaled the best English gardens of the time. For our Josephine Collection, we included beautiful old florals as well as fantasy florals and small petite prints - perfect for mixing into a quilt!
Last Spring, Lissa Alexander, Moda's master marketing gal, asked each of the Moda designers to chose a block to create. At the Moda Schoolhouse, we each stood up and presented our block, along with a story of how the block fit into the chosen theme: Size Matters. I took the theme quite literally...I made my block bigger....
and better.....
When I stood up to present my block, I told everyone I really thought that the point of the project was to make our block bigger - and better! Little did I realize that everyone else had a block that was actually useable...6x6, 8x8 or even 12x12. Oh well, my block was designed to be turned into a portable picnic blanket - complete with tie - so you can wear it over your shoulder as you walk to your perfect spot to picnic! That's Molly's Stella up there sitting on the blanket...she's always ready to picnic!
We've also designed a beautiful, large Flying Geese inspired quilt with our new collection, Josephine. Designed by myself and JZ, sewn by the talented Penny Tucker, and quilted by Cheryl Yamamoto...this quilt, as well as all of our quilts, is truly a team effort. As many of you know, designing quilts has not come easy to me...but this quilt seemed to flow...I loved the combination of the classic style and the ability to show off the fabric at the same time.

Over the years six years of designing fabric for Moda, I have learned that size really does matter! Once I settle on a theme for a collection, I go digging in my fabric archives for inspiration. I look for a couple of large scale prints, a few mediums and a handful of small, or ditsy prints. Being fairly new to the quilt business, I have learned how important the variety of scale is. Too many large prints and there is not enough depth or diversity - too many small prints and the design of the quilt can begin to lose itself. I am so thankful for friends and teachers that have helped me learn this along the way....it's been an important tool for me while designing collections and the accompanying quilts.
Thanks to Moda, I have a handful of giveaways to accompany this blog hop, as well as some cute Josephine Hankies, so go ahead and leave me a comment about your favorite size quilt to sew...is it a lap quilt, a baby quilt or something larger? Sofia will choose the lucky winners within the week and we will send out some prizes! Thanks for playing along and hope to see some of you in Houston!

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 703 Newer› Newest»I have made various sizes of quilts and really don't have a particular favorite as each one is an individual for an individual purpose.
My favorite sized quilt is lap size--big enough to snuggle under but small enough to finish!
That is a really cool picnic quilt! Love the idea of just enlarging a quilt block to make one large quilt! Clever!! I think I like the lap sized quilts to sew and quilt best. But I always love a quilt that I can put on my bed that is much larger. It's just harder to quilt up. Thanks for the chance to win!
My favorite size to make is a lap size and I love to make wall hangings. What a wonderful way to win a great prize.
My favorite size is whatever size I think the recipient needs at the time. However I love making baby quilts for the new grands.
I have to say that lap sized quilts are really my preferred sizes to make. I get a little overwhelmed with the bigger ones and can't wait to see them get done and be given away.
I have to say a Baby Quilt. It's quick and easy and every new Baby must have one. And it makes the parents feel special.
Lap quilts seem to be the size I've made most often. It's a good size for a gift. Thanks for the picnic quilt pattern and for a chance in your giveaway. I love the deep reds in French General collections.
I love making little quilts, but I love all sizes. becky
The size depends on who will receive the quilt - right now, grand babies are little so crib size is just right for them. Lap quilt is perfect for the friend who likes to snuggle on her sofa with a good book. My daughter just created the most beautiful bedroom for herself so a queen size quilt will be the perfect gift!
I can't really say I have a favorite size as I make lap-size quilts and table toppers and table runners, as well.
When I make a sample quilt for the store or a magazine, I usually make the crib or lap size -- whatever is the smallest size included with the pattern. For my own quilts, or quilts to give away, I like to make bed-size quilts.
Baby quilts are so fun to do. Love all that baby fabric and sweet colors. But my favorite is actually the lap quilt. Your new fabric is beautiful. I love the French charm and colors. C'est tres jolie, nest-ce pas?
Merci, Kathy
Lately I've been making baby quilts and wall hangings for gifts. I do have a queen size quilt in the works for me(and my hubby), but it always gets put on the back burner.
My favourite size quilt is bed size - although smaller quilts sometimes get finished!
My favorite size is a lap or baby quilt. I am just starting out and dont have a hugh machine. These sizes are easier for to learn and use my machine on. Love your Big Block!
Love the idea of a big quilt block picnic quilt! Can't wait to try it.
I like your idea for your block, size does matter. For me I seem to like to make full size quilts for my bed.
Jennifer K.
Thanks for a chance to win. Love all your fabrics so much. Can't wait to see the next line!
I have a new grandson... so baby quilts for sure!!
I'm new at this bloging stuff - - we'll see if I can keep up. I've done quite a few lap quilts lately so suppose they are my fave - they get finished!!
I like making throw size quilts the best as well as small quilts.
Oh my, I'm so new at this I don't even have a name!
Yikers, everyone knows size matters...just ask two six year old girls looking at two yummy iced brownies. Enter me to win....would love to add to my collection of French General fabrics. Thanks Lee
I love to make baby quilts. Fast and fun to make and easy to quilt on my home machine.
I love to make quilts in all sizes, but right now the quilt I am working on is a miniature 18x18 inches. But your fabrics are so beautfiul, I would love to make a large bedsize quilt!
I love to sew bed quilts. A special hug at night, wrapped in one of my quilts, is wonderful for those I love.
Oh regardless of the size, there's nothing quite like a quilt! I've made all sizes, but I think my favorites are small ones that give me quicker gratification in seeing a completed project! I've made a lot of bed size quilts, and a lot of small wall hanging size quilts, only a few lap quilts. I love them all!!!
My favorite is a large throw size, that way i can quilt it myself.
L.samlow@comcast.net
My favorite size to make is a lap quilt. Love your block!
My favorite size quilt to sew is a lap quilt. Much easier to quilt with my home machine and perfect to snuggle under when watching TV.
I like quilting crib or throw size quilts because I am less likely to get bored and have to put it aside. Somehow I end up making lots of bed size quilts though.
Smallish is just my speed! Actually, I usually do more tech cozies and purses than real quilts. But even they are pieced and quilted!
I love to sew lap size quilts and small projects such as wall hangings and table toppers. More instant gratification I suppose!
I love the big block and Josephine is beautiful!! My favorite is a lap quilt, you can never have enough!!
I am just so excited about this blog hop! I could hardly wait for it to start! My favorite size quilt to make is probably a twin size. I really love queen size but that gets kinda hard and tricky on a home machine :)
I love baby quilts because they are unusually wrapped around a beautiful little person. Love the idea of a big block quilt. Thanks for the chance to win!
My favorite size of quilt to make are doll size or wall quilts, because I can actually get them finished! Thank you for all of the fabulous fabric lines - I have many collections! I enjoyed your "huge" block to make the picnic blanket, Stella looks so cute! Thanks!
I love making baby quilts! Quick, satisfying and make a new mother so happy!
I enjoy lap sized quilts because it affords playing with a color group and trying a new technique without committing loads of time and money for it.
My favourite size is a lap quilt. Great block!
I most enjoy lap quilts!!!
Oh how funny about your super huge block, but it works. And it's really great looking and functional with the strap to carry.
My favorite size is baby quilts. I suppose that is because they are easier to work with, but also because I've had three grandchildren in the past six years too. I have one large size quilt I've done so far and I do love it, but I think baby size and lap quilts is what I might stick to for awhile because I can handle those without the expense of sending the quilt out for the final quilting.
I really love to do baby quilts, they are quick, fun themes and get loved so much more than big bed quilts.
I love making lap quilts...the cosier the better!
Thanks for the chance to win!!
Paulette
The quickest to make are baby....but I love lap sized too!
I love making wall hangings the best. Thanks for the chance to win.
My favorite size quilt has always been bed size. If I ever get my latest on quilted I may have to rethink that. Love all your fabric lines. Thanks
What a hoot to see your block turn into a quilt! I love seeing what the designers have up their sleeves; thanks. Smaller quilts appeal to me more and there is really something special about baby quilts.
I love making doll size quilts or wall hangings. They are quicker that a full quilt and easier to finish.
Love your 1 block quilt! I try to keep to lap size or the quilting becomes a hard and long job. Thanks so much!
Well, I am new to this game of quilting so I have only made a small size quilt. I am sure I will graduate to bigger and better. Love Josephine!
Wow. Thank you for the giveaway. I was surprised to confirm I make more lap quilts than bed quilts.
My favorite is Grandkids size! Usually a throw size. I have made a few big block quilts. I like the way they show off the fabric.
I like lap size and smaller, like walhangings and pillow tops, because I can also sandwich and quilt them easily on my DSM. Your new line looks lovely!
I like making lap size quilts the most because my family loves to wrap themselves in them come winter time.
I have to say I love a baby quilt. Instant, well almost instant, satisfaction. I can even quilt them myself! Thanks for the inspiration.
I have been following your designs for about a year and I love them!
My favorite quilts are lap size. Love to wrap up in a quilt while reading or watching tv.
I love bed size quilts, but I usually prefer to sew lap size quilts. Thanks for the chance to win. Your Josephine fabrics are beautiful!
I love a good lap quilt.
But all are fun.
Shawn
My favorite size is a lap quilt - so I can snuggle under it!
That is A BIG BIG BIG size block. :)
Love it.
I seem to be making really big quilts lately. My last two were king-sized, but I'm done. I love making baby quilts. They come together so quick.
I have to say queen size because my family loves to wrap up in them!! Next is baby quilts because they are so quick and fun! I love your new line Josephine and already have a fat quarter bundle! You have definitely done a great job with the different sizes of large and small prints! They are gorgeous!!
Cheers, Colette
I love to make bed size quilts! There is such an air of accomplishment when I get one done.
I love throw sized quilts - easy enough to make, but so useful and cuddly! Thanks for the chance to win some of your gorgeous fabric!
WOW such beautifyl fabrics! Love Moda.
Love the block!
I like big lap quilts. I love to use them as decorations and change the look of my living room often, this way.
I am a big block girl. I don't want my toes sticking out from the bottom....jmh
baby and lap quilts. so much satisfaction in so little time.
I enjoy making a smaller size like a baby quilt, with limited sewing time it gives me the satisfaction of a finished project.
Beautiful quilt. I love making baby quilt.
Thanks for sharing.
LOVE the idea of a portable picnic blanket block! Perfect idea for a fast holiday gift. Thanks!
Sally K is SC
Lap size is my favorite. You're able to get a great design and completion is attainable in lesser time.
I love the one block quilt! Now I want to make a picnic blanket. My favorite size quilts are baby quilts. Lots of room to play but quick to finish.
I like to make bed-sized quilts. So cozy. So pretty. So useable.
Debbie R.
I love a lap quilt. Perfect for curling up with a book or an extra cover on a cold night.
My favorite size is doll because I usually get them done, but anything goes.
I like your huge block as well. Something fast for a working girl to make! Thanks for the chance to win your wonderful giveaway!!
I like making all sizes. But the smaller ones I can quilt myself. Question..how did you get the dog to sit so still right on the middle of the quilt?
I love to make lap quilts or throws. I recently purchased a Josephine layer cake and intend to do just that! Thanks for the chance to win!
I love making lap/crib quilts because I can finish them myself!
Love your comments and your block.
My favorite size quilt is one to fit the person I am making it for. I want the person to be able to snuggle with the quilt, and have enough to tuck under chin. Most of my quilts end up odd sizes, but they fit the person. They are big with color, composition, and love.
Your fabric is so lovely in any size block. but the big blocks really show it off! My favorite size quilt to make is a lap quilt -big enough to snuggle in but small enough to tote around. And it's easy to manipulate on the sewing machine :) Thanks for the inspiration and the giveaway!
Love your block. It;s great. My favourite size is a lap quilt. It goes up fast and I can FM it on my home machine. Thanks so much for sharing
I love your big block - it would make a wonderful baby quilt. My favorite quilts to make are baby size up through lap size. They are enough to have fun with but not get too bogged down.
I love all your beautiful fabric.
Love lap size, and love to give that size as a gift. Nice to know someone is keeping warm thanks to me!
Cozy size quilts!
I like to make lap size quilts.
I've mostly done baby quilts, but am trying to do a queen size star quilt for the first time....and it's turning out too small! So, size does matter! :) (It's a good thing I like borders)
Your big block made me smile! My favorite size of quilt to make is an oversized lap quilt to twin size. Thanks for the chance at your giveaway.
I like to do a toddler size quilt... bigger than baby but not quite a throw.
I sew all sizes of quilts and have enjoyed them all. Don't have one particular size that is my favourite.
I just love to quilt, any size. :)
your great big block is wonderful. thanks for sharing, and for a chance to win a prize.
I'm into large lap sized quilts. I can't bring myself to make bigger just yet! I do enjoy baby sized as well - cause I can actually get them done and feel like I've been productive! I love your new line and can't wait to see the yardage in person.
I love the story of you BIG block. I love small quilts and lap quilts.
I love to make a large lap quilt. Nothing worse than curling up with your feet hanging out. Thanks for the opportunity and I am loving this big block quilt.
I love your new "Josephine" line of fabric. I recently purchased it in a layer cake. I make all sizes of quilts. Smaller sizes are easier but a bigger one sure looks pretty on a bed!
I love to make lap quilts. I can quickly made one and move on to the next project on my list!
The older I get, the more I like smaller quilts...cannot wait for Josephine
My favorite size quilts to make are the bedsize quilt as I love the way it adds love and warmth to a bedroom.
I enjoyed reading your blog hop post too and TFS.
Jackie
I usually make large lap size. Gotta have a quilt in the evening to watch tv.
Baby and lap quilts are my favorite to make because they are the easiest for me to quilt on my domestic machine.
When my friend and I went to the VT. Quilt Show in 2012, seems like I remember a show about Size Matters and we enjoyed it very much. Am looking forward to reading all the blogs and collecting the blocks.
Also, I just love your reds you use in your fabric lines.
At this time I am several works in progress. I am presently working on several hand applique wall hangings, two lap quilts and a queen size quilt. This time of year my favorite size quilt is the wall hangings however the colder it gets outside the larger my quilts gets. Love the new fabric line.
I enjoy larger fabric pieces because then the pattern is that much more enjoyable.
Such a big block! I typically make lap size quilts.
Asking a favorite size quilt is like trying to decide which is my favorite collection of yours! I love them all!
My favorite is lap size, it's the perfect size for a fast quilt by the time the quilting is being done I'm ready to move on to the next quilt.
My favorite size of quilts?? Does size really matter??really, I prefer to make bed size quilts from a crib to a king size... Whatever is needed. Love your blg....
Please pick me...
Nap quilts are just the right size when it comes to those quiet Sunday afternoon naps!
Favorite size is crib quilt, both because it is a manageable size that can be completed within a reasonable amount of time and because there is no better gift to welcome a new baby.
Anita T.
Hi, I'm Lynn and I've made three baby quilts in the last two months so they're currently my favorite. There's nothing like the seeing a expectant mom's face light up when she opens a quilt gift at her baby shower.
I love to make lap quilts and give them as gifts. What better way to wrap your love around a person and remind them of how special they are to you. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to win something special.
I like making queen size but then make pillow cases or shams, wall hanging with leftover fabric. So I guess I like all of it.
I love large block quilts and also lap size. French General fabrics are some of my favorites. I love the colors.
Pam Gardner
Love your LARGE quilt: it is perfect for a picnic!! And I like making lap quilts best: big enough to snuggle under, but not so big that I'll never finish it!! :-)
I've been doing Philanthropy quilts for my guild lately, so I don't use patterns much right now. Somehow, whether I'm trying to made a baby quilt or one for a teenager's bed, these quilts all seem to end up as lap quilts! I always want to make them a little bigger, until I don't want to make anymore blocks or another border. then I stop. Result? Another lap quilt!
Since I love to use all my quilts I try to make mine twin or queen sized. (However I do dapple in art quilts and I keep those VERY small.)
I love large quilts that we can use, but I will make any size that I love!!! Thanks for your wonderful fabric, I'm using a lot in an applique quilt that I'm working on now!!!!!
I like that you are humble about your quilting designing. I like that you open to possibilities and inspiration. I like all sized of quilts. My whims go to needs, of people first, the call of the fabric second.
I love making baby quilts! because I can try all different types of patterns and it doesn't take forever and who better than a baby to snuggle in one of your quilts! I also love hand quilting and its so much fun with a baby quilt!
Coming from two generations of quilters, I already have bed quilts. So I enjoy creating wallhangings, throws and bed toppers.
My favorite size is baby quilt size or so. It is big enough to get the flavor but lets me try different things without taking forever.
I love making baby quilts -- I find that they are small enough to be quick, and large enough to do just about any design you want. Size does matter...
I make a lot of very small quilts and baby quilts but my favorite size is 60" square.
My favorite size to make is baby quilts because I make them for my grandchildren. Thanks for the chance to win!
I make all sizes - wall hangings to king size. And sometimes what was supposed to be a small project because I loved the fabric - Rouenneries - became a covering for a headboard AND a king size quilt!
I usually make lap quilts. I've made a few that were closer to twin size, but I haven't worked my way up to a bed-sized quilt yet.
I love making lap quilts.....seems a good size that I actually finish!!!!!! Lol. Wall quilts are a favorite, too.....thanks for the chance to win. I loved hearing you on Pat Sloan's radio show!!!!!
I think my favorite size quilt is a lap! That's the size I made for my grandbabies when they were born, that way they can use them for a long time! Size matters!
I really like to make baby or lap quilts because they get to be used and loved so quickly.
I love making baby quilts and miniatures too. I like you Big Block quilt.
I like your big quilt! I don't think about "up-sizing" a small block. Thanks for the inspiration!
HUGS... and stitches
I LOVE your picnic big block quilt with Stella sitting proudly on it! I used to make only bed size quilts that took me forever, so now I am happy to make lap sized so I can play with all the different fabrics that I love! I have always loved your fabrics and love that you brought some of your (MY) favorites back! Thanks for your blog and the chance to win your yummy Josephine fabrics!
Size matters, in matters of the heart and in matters of the quilt. I'm loving your "Big Block" for picnics and can't wait to see your new line for Moda.
The picnic size quilt is wonderful. Perfect since I do not have a picnic quilt to use. Thank you for the chance to win your beautiful fabric.
I like all quilts but i think my favorites are lap size. quilts.Love your big block quilt and and of course your dog does too!
I've only made twin size or bigger quilts! I'm planning (eventually) to try a lap size, or even a small hanging quilt... I just like it big!
My favorite quilt size is a lap quilt. They are great to use on the sofa, and fun to change out with the seasons. Love your BIG quilt block quilt!
My favorite size quilt to make is a queen. Almost all I make to keep are queens!!
Love your new Josephine fabric and the romantic story behind it. My favorite is a trow size, and a twin size because a dream of taking an afternoon nap in a sun porch during a summer vacation in a lake cabin.
I thought Chateau Rouge was my favorite, but I am loving Josephine, too. I would love to make a quilt for my guest room with it!! Thanks for the chance to win. Raquel_j_g@msn.com
Heehee!!! I've not sewn anything larger than a throw size. To be honest, I am a bit scared to sew a large quilt. However, I want a quilt made by me on my king sized bed...so I well have to step put of my comfort zone and just do it! ;)
My favorite is twin size. We live in Alaska where the warmth of a generous quilt tucked around your feet and up to your chin is a true blessing. I keep a flannel twin quilt on each sofa and chair in my house. I love the rich reds and botanicals in your fabrics!
I like to make useable queen size quilts!
I enjoy different size quilts and blocks just to mix it up a little as I work through my projects! Life is fun!
I love small, med. large, and extra Large Quilts. I just love to quilt. Put me in for the giveaway. Nancy P.
Large lap seems to be the size I choose most often
Love it all!
I am liking small quilts at the moment as I'm more likely to finish them. It's almost instant gratification and less likely to end up as a UFO.
My favorite size quilt to make would be a couch throw size but definitely not a square ( only baby size square)
I prefer to make bed size quilts. Each of my grandchildren seem to like them:~)
I love a large quilt with tiny, tiny pieces, all very scrappy, as you can see from my photo! I love the new fabrics, red, red, red.
Donna Hefty
I love the size of the project I am working on at the time because it is the size the person wants or needs that will receive my creation. I love your new fabric line. Thank you for your inspiring quilts.
I liked the extra large block, cute! Finding the comments link was a little difficult though maybe due to size (or my vision). Thanks for sharing.
I love BIG quilts! But somehow they never get finished.... :(
So I keep making small ones, because they're easier to handle.
I am currently into making large bed size quilts for our home.
Thanks for a chance to win some of your goodies.
Big things come in small packages. I like my quilts little. Little art quilts to change up seasonally.
Little is best. I like to make little art quilts to change up seasonally and display on my walls.
I had to smile when I saw your bigger is better block. I love it! My favorite quilt to make would probably be a Lap quilt or even a runner. But my favorite to use would be something larger. Something that would fit on my bed or will cover me completely to snuggle. I don't mind the piecing of larger quilts, its the quilting of them. I don't have a machine that works well for that.
My current favorite size to work with is wall hangings. Gives me lots of opportunities to try different colors and patterns. Depending on what happens that either prompts me to make a bigger one or I am making a small quilt from the left overs of a bigger one. It is never ending.
I'm really starting to love mini/wall quilts. Quick and easy to put together. I usually have a couple of large quilts going together, so it's nice to take a break from them and finally get a quilt DONE!!
Thanks for the chance to win!!
I used to love lap quilts the best because they were quick and easy. Now I'm more into bed-sized quilts.
My all time favourites are the big enormous quilts. I seem to start a fair few of those (and have several at once in production!) Close second is the lap quilt. Purely because is it smaller yet big enough to get good use and is finished quicker so you can make more in different fabrics! Great for experimenting. My heart is with the big boys though.
My favorite size quilt to sew is a lap quilt or throw size. They're not too overwhelming and you can put them every where, especially since I have a small house and not a lot of space for full-sized and queen-sized quilts.
kimma722ataol.com
thanks for the chance to win!
My favorite size is a lap quilt. Large enough to be useful but small enough to be able to machine quilt myself without too much grief!
Big blocks are perfect for the novelty prints that are too pretty to cut up. Here's a hint to my style, a quote from my mother, "are you ever going to make quilts for beds?" and my answer is "maybe someday."
I like making baby or kid quilts, they seem to be the ones that are needed and used the most. It always makes me feel good when i see them wrapped up in them.
Small scrappy quilts are my favorite. The smaller the better
I love to make miniatures because when our 5 kids were young, it was the only type of quilt I could finish! But the large quilt you designed was interesting! I could finish THAT!
My favorite right now is baby quilt size. Probably due to the fact that my first grandchild, a boy, is due to arrive at the end of November. I have made 2 queen size quilts this year and it is nice to downsize for a bit. One of those quilts is made from your Lumiere de Noel line and is a wedding gift for my oldest son and daughter in law in October. Just hand sewing the binding and it is ready to be wrapped!! Love your fabric design.
I lve your picnic blanket! Your fabric is beautiful. Thank you for the pattern,
I have always been drawn to bed sized quilts. I love the thought of people happily and warmly snuggled in under something that I labored over. I hope that someday I will make such quilts for my grandchildren.
Thank you!
I am a fan of big blocks and showing off the pretty fabrics!
I love making all sizes of quilts, depending on the occasion. And, I agree - size does matter! I even designed a pattern with that name. The first quilt that I ever made was king size to fit my bed and now I make tiny quilt jewelry, as small as 3/4" - so size really does matter!
The quilt size everyone in my family enjoys is what I call a cuddle-sized quilt--it's bigger than a traditional lap size but smaller than a twin size. It's long enough for all my 6-foot plus nieces and nephews to cuddle in on the couch.
I love your new Josephine line and can't wait until it is available!
I've only ever made baby quilts, and two bed-sized quilts (a king and a queen). I think my favorite to make is going to be lap quilts (although I really like having bed-sized quilts around). :)
i love making baby quilts so fun to quilt that size
i love making baby quilts cause they easy for me to quilt on my home machine
I love making lap quilts....easier to handle on a domestic machine and quick enough to do so I can move on the next set of beautiful fabrics!!
Thank for the chance to enter!!
Interesting block. Thank you.
I love the lap size it is easy to handel I have trouble with bigger thing because I have MS and i love all your quilts
I love big quilts but prefer to make the versatile big enought to use/small enought to hang on the wall.
I always go to larger quilts. I try to make wall hangings but as I start building the quilt it keeps getting bigger. Size matters.
I tend to make smaller quilts because they are less overwhelming. Someday I hope to make a bed size quilt :)
Love that you went big- go big or go home!
I like to make big lap quilts- almost bed size so you can really snuggle under them.
Thanks for sharing this, all of the quilts are great!!
Love the big block and Stella. Lap quilts are a favorite and doll quilts. Would love to try one for a queen size bed someday.
Usually I make a twin/lap sized quilt. Depends on what it's for though.
I'm fond of lap quilts and wall hangings for the instant gratification they give for completing something quickly...but I also always have one or two "on-going" projects (bed size quilts)! Thanks for a chance to win.

The bottom line is, of course, size matters. In anything and everything. I enjoy making baby quilts; then lap quilts and ever so often queen-sized quilts. Thank you for being a part of the Size Matters Blog Hop and giving all of us a chance to win.

I find it hard to say what size quilt I prefer to make. I make all sizes. Thank you for the BIG idea to make a small block large.
I love your big block! I like traditional quilts. Your big block quit is traditional but is also contemporary. I love it! Christine. carterch@marktwain.net
I like large and lap size quilts. Laps are a LOT easier to quilt.
Thanks for the give-a-way
What a great idea for a barn quilt, instead of the picnic block, thank you. My quilts usually depend on the pattern as to what size quilt I make. Love your fabrics and patterns. Thankyou.
Favorite size right now is queen size to cover my beds.
