Bonjour!
I am writing to you from the middle of the Navajo Nation...where I am on my yearly adventure to find old Navajo rugs! I woke up as early as I could to send in my post all about an exciting new book and hop. As many of you know, I am a NOVICE quilter...so when Jenifer Keltner, of Martingale Books, rang up and asked if I would like to be involved with their new book, All in a Row, I immediately called on quilt master Penny Tucker. Some of you may know Penny, as she has been working with the French General design team since we started designing quilts and writing patterns. There is no one better to have by your side than someone who has been in the quilt world for the past twenty-five years. Penny rang up Cheryl who has been one of our piecer's for many years and together they came up with our row - using my favorite pattern of all time, the drunkard's path block.
So here is our row - all made out of French General scraps! It ended up looking a bit like a piece of cream rick-rack running through red blocks. I love how it turned out and think it would look great in multiple colors on a quilt!
For more information on this new book, please visit the Martingale site.
Be sure to check out the "It's a Beauty of a Contest" event and GREAT PRIZES, from February 1 through March 15, sponsored by Moda Fabrics and Martingale. For more on the contest and prizes, click here. And if you want to be entered to win a free copy of the book, comment below and be sure to mention two rows shown on the Martingale site (link above) that you'd like to make once you get the book. And please, be sure to include your e-mail address in your comment. We will choose a handful of winners - for books and French General scraps!
And...if you are interested in seeing my travels through the Navajo Nation...please follow us on instagram over the next week...I am posting daily about the trading posts, the weavers and all of the beauty to be found on a vast stretch of land between Arizona and New Mexico.
Merci!
