Moda came up with a brilliant idea and made up these sweet collectible Frivols Tins - complete with everything you need to make a simple quilt top - you just need to add binding, batting and backing! In celebration of our Frivols Tin No. 5 we are doing a giveaway - and we haven't done one of those in a long time!
All you have to do is leave a comment about something frivolous you like to do...so it could be sitting in a cafe stitching, or reorganizing your fabric, or just sitting quietly with a cup of tea and staring out the window! Actually those are all necessary things to do - maybe not so frivolous after all!
We will choose a lucky winner and send out one of our Frivols Tins on Monday, April 11th. You can also collect the other Frivols Tins - there are 12 altogether! Here is a list of the Frivols Tins - each one featuring a Moda designer:
No. 1 Hello Darling by Bonnie & Camille
No. 2 Polka Dots & Paisleys by Minick & Simpson
No. 3 Eliza's Indigo by Betsy Chutchian
No. 4 Windermere by Brenda Riddle
No. 5 Petite Prints Deux by French General
No. 6 Strawberry Fields Revisited by Fig Tree
No. 7 Songbird Gatherings by Primitive Gatherings

I haven't seen this frivols tin yet. How did I miss it?!! I feel frivolous when I wander through flea and antique markets and imagine the people who owned the items before.
This was my first tin! Frivolous? Never?
Oh, I love sitting on my front porch either reading or sketching at the end of the day!

French General creates such beautiful fabrics, they always inspire me to do something new. Great job.
Sudoku on my phone, although it actually feels more productive (less mindless) than playing Solitaire!!
Perhaps not frivolous, but definitely indulgent - I'd like to spread out my yarn stash this weekend on my living room floor to play around with ideas for spring knitting projects. Ah so fun to play in fiber :-)
Reading on my Kindle.......not really frivolous to me.....Love the Frivol tins....
A Bloody Mary with lunch, on a weekday, while knitting! Totally frivolous!
Thank you for the chance to win! The tin looks so very lovely; can't wait to try my hand at it. I feel quite frivolous when we are eating out at a fancy restaurant on a 'normal' schoolday :).

I buy myself a bunch of flowers just for the joy of it! This time of year, I buy tulips because I can't seem to grow them because the neighborhood deer like the way they taste!
I would pour myself a glass of lovely Prosecco, then go lie on my favorite lounge chair on my back deck and listen to all the sweet birds. Those Frivol Tins look really sweet.
Binge watching Netflix while hand stitching...and even when I'm not stitching. :-)
These look fantastic. Staying on the computer way too long.
I love sipping on a cup of Mariage Frere Wedding Imperial Tea while reading my favourite blogs. Frivolous? I say good for the Spirit!
Spending too much time on Pinterest!
I'm addicted to Sudoku puzzles. Though I've read that doing puzzles keeps my mind sharp, so maybe they're not so frivolous. Thanks.
Frivolous is throwing caution to the wind on a summer day and heading to the beach, enjoying a chocolate milkshake, a real one with real ice cream and the bit of extra in the tin they give you. Frivolous is spending a whole day binge watching Downton Abbey until you want to just book your flight to England and have a real cream tea. Frivolous is spending all day in bed reading a book that you JUST CANNOT PUT DOWN!!! So I will frivolously cross my fingers and toes in hope that I have a future reason to throw caution to the wind and spend the whole day engrossed in quilting!!
I love looking and buying some flowers at the market ... and love browsing and buying some beautiful fabrics at my LQS (and did both today:-)
Reading several hours per day! Thank you for a chance to win
Sewing pretty projects, not because they are needed, because they are pretty and wanted!
Simply enjoying the sunshine in the backyard. Love these Frivols.
Frivolous is curling up on the daybed on the screened porch on a bright sunny, warm, breezy day for a nap with my 20 yr old cat laying on my chest! I've had a few of those days and they are very special and more necessary than frivolous? Thank you for a sweet memory with wishes for spring to hurry up.
A Pedicure!! And you can stitch at the same time! Bonus!
Each Frivols Tin is so cute! Frivolous is just sitting in my comfy chair stroking my new fabric collection! Love it! Thank You so for sharing!

English piecing tiny hexagons!
Ohhh......I'd get fresh flowers for every room! They make everything wonderful!
I check out Pinterest daily to see what is going on as well. I'm not the only one who pins things from French General. You all light up my imagination and make me happy.
My frivolity is digging up antique sewing notions at the brocante in our little French town of Cotignac where we live a few months a year. Last year I unearthed an antique silver needle holder in which I keep the large needle I favor for sewing together my knitting projects.
Frivolous is sewing all day and all night without interruptions and not missing the sleep! Love the tins.
Just watch a little TV and have a snack!
Frivolous is sitting with my stacks of magazines and binders full of beautiful quilting patterns, and imagining my next project. Magical....
I love a few uninterrupted minutes with a nice cup of coffee and a good book. Bliss!
Oh dear! My frivolity is playing Candy Crush on both my phone and my tablet - a tremendous waste of time!
I love the fabrics and color selection. Too far away from you, can't travel and just drool over your offers.
I just love stitching away the day with no noise at all. It is so peaceful and soothing to me. Thank you for the opportunity to win!

I haven't seen this frivols tin in person , hope they arrived soon at my local quilt shop, more or less 100km away.My frivol is drink a cup of coffee almost three cups in a day and if is with hubby or friends is more delicious and watch bake at weekend.
I love to read blogs and drink coffee. Total frivolity as I should be working!!! These tins are quite sweet. I will be looking for them at my LQS!!!
Every Christmas I make something for everything on Christmas Eve - whether they want it or not! There are 10 of us including a priest. One year I made felted slippers, 1 year I made knitted hats in their favorite team colors (lots of leftover yarn on that one). This last year I made socks for everyone. I am slowly, very slowly sewing a quilt for each person. This one called Frivols would be perfect for my son's fiancée. There are a lot of less frivolous things I could be doing, but this makes me happy and always brings a smile to the recipient's face.

I love sitting under our pergola and enjoying the birds singing and the flowers blooming! Your tin and everything in it is great!

Watching TV and reading are my favorite frivolous activities! Chris C
Eating a chocolate croissant and reading all afternoon.
Getting my set of Inspector Morse DVD's and putting my hand quilting frame in from t of the TV.
To me, being frivolous is spending an afternoon online shopping for new fabric when I already have more than I can ever use before I go to that final quilt retreat in the sky!
Watching an old favorite movie and hand stitching on my wool applique...❤
I have most of your fabric lines from the last several years! Love! Your frivol looks wonderful. Something fun? Petting fabric of course!
After driving a school bus all week I look forward to spending. Saturday Morning sewing and maybe the afternoon too. Love Fench General fabrics keep up the good work.
I love to watch hockey while I applique. Neither is actually frivolous. :D
Depends who's watching as to whether or not this might be frivilous . . . but I love pulling out fabric and thinking about how it might look in a quilt. Sometimes I move forward with it, and other times I put it away and pull fabric for another idea. Such fun, and a good rest for the mind after a long work week. Love your fabrics! And they are such fun to play with!!
A frivolous activity for me would be reading my favorite blogs while eating frozen Peppermint Patties!
A frivolous thing for me to do.....buy more Moda fabric! Thank you for the chance to win!
I am pretty much frivolous every Saturday morning with reading blogs and email or shopping on line. I would much rather be stitching some fabric, but I get lost on my iPad and don't realize how much time has gone by.
I feel like I'm being frivolous when I sit on the back porch early in the morning, listening to the birds chirping and looking through quilt magazines. I have lots of French Country furniture and those fabrics would look great in a little quilt thrown over the back of one of my chairs.
Thanks for the chance to win something I can really use.

The frivol tins are too cute!
My favorite relaxing "frivolous" activity is sipping a wonderful cup of tea, while listening to music with my wireless headphones and looking at my work in progress on my design wall. I remember all of the processes of creating each item. It is very satisfying. I do love tins of any kind.
I started weaving this year. My 'frivolous' activity would be playing with my yarn stash, combining and recombining...endlessly. :)
A glass of red wine, sitting out on my deck with my two dogs, enjoying the spring weather. This, my friend, is th glory of retirement!
I'd love to be retired, but until I am, I spend Saturdays sewing - it's MY time! And not at all frivolous. What IS frivolous is taking a nice fat nap in the afternoon ... better to do that on Sunday when it doesn't take away from my sewing time, tho! Thanks for the opportunity - LOVE Frivols!
Watching the mist rise from the lake early in the morning with a cup of coffee. In summer it is glorious and engaging. Other things can wait. (andreaatharlesdotcom)

That early, quiet time in the morning spent doing handwork and drinking coffee. Thanks for the chance to win this lovely kit!
Just Like those sweet little Frivol tins, gotta make time for a little frivolity every day -- blast the music and sing while I'm doing the dishes, skip the dusting for today and read instead, playing with my fabric stash - you get the idea!
Napping, always napping.....
